Information Policy Qvantum App
Qvantum Energi AB (“Qvantum”) is responsible for the information and personal data processing within the framework of the Qvantum App for the management and control of the Qvantum products that are from time to time compatible with the App (the “Services”). The protection of your personal data is important to us. We want you to feel safe when using our products and services.
This information policy informs you about how we will treat your data and personal data if you use the Services. This information policy may be updated as the Services change, and supplements Qvantum’s overall privacy policy.
1. When does this information policy apply?
The information policy applies when the Services are provided by Qvantum and used by the Customer or by others to whom the Customer gives permission to control the heat pump, heating system or individual functions.
The “Customer” is the heating system user who has registered with Qvantum and accepted the Terms of Use and this information policy. “Co-users” are all other persons that the Customer has registered as co-users.
2. What is personal data?
Personal data refers to information about an identified or identifiable natural person. For example, it may be your name, address or contact details or other information with which you can be identified directly or indirectly, such as through information about social security numbers or to one or more specific characteristics that reflect your identity.
3. What data and personal data will be processed while I use the Services and for what purposes?
Qvantum processes the Customer’s and all Co-users’ personal data to the extent this is necessary for the performance of the agreement on the provision of the Services.
In connection with the registration for the Services, the Customer’s personal data (e.g. name and address) is processed for the performance of the contract. The Customer and the Co-users may provide voluntary personal data for specific functions or purposes when using the Services (e.g. heat preferences).
Technical data on the condition of the heating system is processed by Qvantum for the purpose of optimizing heating system functions and in order to protect Qvantum’s legitimate interests (e.g. data collection for fault identification and product and quality improvement).
Personal data may also be processed for the purposes of:
- providing customer service, including on behalf of a supplier and/or a Qantum partner, entrusted by Qvantum to provide repair and maintenance services for Qvantum’s products (“Service Partners”);
- maintaining proper system operation, both technically, with regard to information security and data protection; including the protection of Customers and their personal data, third parties, heating systems, back-end systems and other IT infrastructure (for example, identification, analysis and protection against attempts at unauthorized access or tampering, possible attacks and disruptions);
- preventing and investigating violations of the Terms of Use and misuse of the Services or features (for example, unauthorized activation or use of the Services or unauthorized use to interfere with the Services or functions), and
- establishing, exercising or defending legal claims (for example, to prove the proper functioning of the Services and to comply with contractual obligations and other legal requirements).
Qvantum may also process data and user behavior in anonymized form for the purpose of adapting and improving the quality of the service offering as well as for product development purposes (optimization and further development of heating system functions), and for the purpose of providing public information about the Services, to the extent necessary to protect Qvantum’s legitimate interests.
Unless otherwise described in this information policy, Qvantum’s data and personal data processing is a necessary prerequisite for being able to provide the respective described service and functions. To the extent technically possible, in connection with the description of various functions within the Services, you will be informed about how you can restrict the processing of your data and personal data (for example, by deactivating certain functions). In such a case, however, you may not be able to use the Services in whole or in part.
In order for the Services to be provided, in particular with regard to technical processes such as transmission of service-related information, activation or deactivation of services, technical optimization, troubleshooting or determination of connection status, the heat pump system will be regularly or permanently connected to Qvantum’s backend system.
